Some of the activities of FWEAN are:

Developing Sustainable Peace in Nepal:

A two-days training on Developing Sustainable Peace in Nepal was organized by Federation of Woman Entrepreneurs Associations of Nepal (FWEAN) in cooperation with Woman Entrepreneurs Development Forum of Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) on July 22 and 23, 2008. The training was conducted by Dr. Paula Green and Ms. Olivia Stokes-Dreier from Karuna Centre for Peace Building (Vermont, USA).

Nettle Fiber Product Development Training:

Nettle Fiber Product Development Training: A seven-days Nettle Fiber (Allo) Product Development Training program/workshop was conducted by FWEAN in collaboration with Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN) and supported by B.P. Koirala India - Nepal Foundation was held from September 21 to 27, 2008 at Handecen, Jawalakhel. The training was conducted by Ms. Nishy Singh from New Delhi, India.

SAARC Chamber Crafts Village (SCCV).

SAARC Chamber Crafts Village (SCCV) Retail Showroom was launched on 5th July 2006 at hotel Ambassador; Lazimpat Kathmandu. It was inaugurated by Deputy Prime Minister of Nepal Mr. K.P. Sharma Oli, with the presence of SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) President Mr. Daso Ugen Thechup Dorji, Vice Presidents from the SAARC Region. Also present were SCWEC Chairperson Ms. Nasreen Awal Mintoo and SCCI Woman Entrepreneurs Council delegates, INGOs, Diplomats, Nepal Government, Policy Makers, high ranking Government officials, NGOs working on Socio economic empowerment of the women and the media.

The core objectives of the SCCV Retail Showroom is to create greater markets opportunities, design and deliver integrated solutions for business development, support and expand the operations of SMMEs through increased access to local, regional and global markets.

Establishments of WEAN Chapters (Women Entrepreneurs     Associations) Chapter in Districts of Nepal

The core aim of FWEAN is to establish subsidiary WEAN Chapters in all 75 districts and mainstream women entrepreneurs in a single umbrella. In this regard, various WEAN chapters had been registered and some are in the process of registration.

OTHER ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY FWEAN:

SAARC CAR RALLY

The main objective of the SAARC Car Rally was to promote connectivity, people-to-people contact, goodwill, trade, tourism and business among the member states. FWEAN, WEAN, WEAN COOPERATIVE board members also participated in the Programme. Ms. Rita Bhandary, IInd Vice President of FWEAN participated in the Welcome Ceremony programme at Hyatt Regency. FWEAN board members also presented a momento to Mr. K.P Sharma Oli-Deputy Prime Minister and to all the Car Rally Participants.

Survey Study on Status and Need of Income Generation Activities in Bhutanese     Refugee     Camps on  behalf of United Nations High Commissioner for Regugees (UNHCR) and lutheran     World Federation  (LWF)
